Finally February

It’s finally February. February 10th to be exact. I have been doing my impersonation of a black bear. I’ve been hibernating since late fall. Haven’t done much and haven’t been on here. I always dread late fall because I know the winter is coming. And as I’ve gotten older I have lost my enthusiasm for winter weather. When I was younger I would be very excited when the weather buy would predict snow. I couldn’t wait to get out in the old 4 wheel drive and have a little fun in the snow. Going places just to see if I could get there and back without calling for help. Now, I dread the snow and even though I still have and old Ford Expedition 4 wheel drive, I just can’t get excited. It’s more of an inconvenience now than fun. I get cold, and when I fall it hurts a lot more. So much for getting older.

But now it’s finally February. That means that spring is coming and the dark days of winter and January are slowly fading away. I’m now looking forward to warmer weather and sunny days. Can’t beat a combination like that. And the days are beginning to get noticeably longer. I don’t like it getting dark at 5 pm, it’s much better later in the day.

Anyway, that’s enough complaining. I sincerely hope you have had a great January/winter and that all is well. Remember that Jesus loves ya and that He paid it all on the cross. Have a great day.

Jesus paid for our sins……..
knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more. Death no longer has dominion over Him. For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God.

Lord, May I Please Enjoy This Ride….

This is Charli Jane as she is preparing for her first ever ride on the Big Wheel. She seems a little nervous, and I’m not sure but it looks like she is praying. This photo was taken last fall when we took a day off and went to Dollywood.  I like memories like this and just thought I would share it today.

It’s been a while since I have been here to post anything. Seems like that is a recurring theme with this site. I have great plans, wonderful ideas, but can’t seem to find the time to do this. I thought time was all I would have when I retired, but I seem to have less of it each day.

Have a great day, know that God loves you and desires to know you through His Son Jesus.

Should A Christian Drink Alcoholic Beverages?

This has been on my mind for a little over a week now and I thought I would try to empty my head out, so here goes.

I live in a small town in East Tennessee. Rogersville to be exact. Pretty much like any small town in America where most folks know each other and the pace can be so slow that we have to check to make sure we are moving. Rogersville is promoted as a historic town with some nice old houses and other historic buildings. To help keep the historic part going, we have the Rogersville Heritage Association. As far as I know, this is a non profit group that exists for the purpose of promoting the history and preserving historic buildings in Rogersville. A couple of weeks ago, this group sponsored an event in town that among other things included the sale of beer. This has caused people to take sides about whether this is right or wrong.
